Lack of storage: Oil Search has been forced to reduce production due to a lack of storage capacity while it awaits a restart of the Kumul marine terminal

Oil Search has restrained production as the loading of oil at the Kumul marine terminal in Papua New Guinea remains suspended.

Oil Search said on Friday that the bad weather was continuing to delay it from carrying out inspections of the Kumul loading line.

The company said it expected the support vessel to now be on-site on or around 9 August and an inspection and any necessary repairs are expected to be carried out soon afterwards.

Due to the suspension of operations at the terminal, Oil Search said it had been forced to reduce production due to a lack of storage capacity.
