Sale plan: Floyd Wilson sees Halcon sale within three years

Floyd Wilson, the chief executive of Halcon Resources, said he plans to build up the company’s assets to the point that he can sell it to a larger player within three years.

In an interview with CNBC on Friday, Wilson said he is looking to grow Halcon “to a point in which it will be attractive to a larger company that’s looking for a large multi-decade development asset”.

He said he expects to make a deal within the next two to three years.

Wilson has made a career out of doing this exact thing. The companies he has helmed have steadily grown under his watch and have subsequently been merged with or bought out by bigger players.
