First oil show for Grand Gulf in Texas

High hopes: Grand Gulf is confident of its Austin Bayou project in Texas after the HRI well 1 intersected its first oil show

US-based Grand Gulf Energy has announced the first oil show at its HRI well 1 on the Austin Bayou prospect in Brazoria County, Texas.

The well was currently preparing to drill ahead at 10,667 feet after being spud at the start of July.

The company reported to the Australian securities Exchange on Thursday that the first oil show was intersected at 10,527 feet to 10,561 feet.

The oil show appeared to tie into the Tex Miss-1 sand above the first primary objective, the Andrau, Grand Gulf stated.

The well will be drilled to a total straight depth of 11,400 feet and is targeting two undip productive sands in the Andrau and Tex Miss-1 intervals, as well as possible…
