Keppel lands Brazilian FPSO gig

BrasFels: Topsides for two FPSOs will be built at Keppel's shipyard in Brazil

Singapore's Keppel Corporation said it has landed a contract worth $950 million to build topsides for two floating production, storage and offloading vessels in Brazil.

The two FPSOs will have identical workscopes including the fabrication and integration of seven topside modules.

When completed, the FPSO P-66 will be deployed to the Guara field while FPSO P-69 will work in the Tupi field. Both units will each have a production capacity of 150,000 barrels per day of oil.

Keppel said it has an option with field operator Petrobras for a similar contract to be exercised by the first quarter of 2014.
