Beach spuds new Bauer well

Life's a beach: Beach Energy has added another well to its Bauer oilfield development programme on the back of Bauer-5's success

Australia-listed Beach Energy has spudded another well on the western flank of South Australia’s Cooper basin as it further expands its development programme.

Spudded on Thursday night, Bauer-6 is being drilled as an oil production well in the western portion of the Bauer oilfield in PEL 91.

The well’s primary objective is the development of the McKinlay and Namur pay zones.

Bauer-6 will be drilled as a vertical well and will also test the extension of the field’s north-west boundary.
