Senex spins the drillbit at Skipton

Cooper basin: the locations of the Skipton-1 and Kingston Rule-1 wells

Senex Energy has started drilling at the Skipton-1 unconventional gas well in the southern portion of South Australia’s Cooper basin.

Skipton-1 is the second well to be drilled on Senex’s wholly-owned PEL 516 in a 12-well gas exploration programme across the company’s Cooper basin permits.

It is also the first of two unconventional gas exploration wells to be drilled using Weatherford’s 1500-horsepower rig 826.

The next well is Kingston Rule-1 in PEL 115 (55% owned and operated by Senex and 20% owned by Orca Energy), which is planned to spud in October.
