Testing Komorze: PGNiG and FX Energy seek to gauge resources at Poznan gas find

Poland’s PGNiG has launched test production at its Komorze field in Poznan, which is thought to hold in-place resources of around 1 billion cubic metres of natural gas.

The explorer lighted a flare on the Komorze-3K deep well late yesterday to kick off test output at the gas find, which uncovered gas shows at the end of July.

PGNiG hold a 51% stake in the Komorze-3K well, situated in Wrzesnia county, with Poland-focused US junior FX Energy holding the other 49%.

Lasting several weeks, the tests aim to establish the recoverable resources at the play as well as to confirm well production rates, measure reservoir pressure and confirm gas quality, PGNiG said.
