Zhaikmunai scoops Kazakh trio

Zhaikmunai has increased its footprint in Kazakhstan with the purchase of three new oil & gas fields in the hydrocarbons-rich country.

The independent has spent $16 million on acquiring 100% of all three fields in the north-west of Uralsk from an unidentified seller.

The fields are Rostoshinskoye, Darjinskoye and Yujno-Gremyachenskoe and cover a combined area of 139 square kilometres.

The deal for the fields, all situated in the pre-Caspian basin, is expected to be completed later this year.
