Gulf United makes another Colombian play

Gulf United Energy has added to its Colombia onshore portfolio with yet another farm-in with SK Innovation.

The latest deal for a huge chunk in a block follows on from a recent deal earlier this month also involving SK in Colombia.

The South America-focused independent is getting a 50% slice in Block VIM-2 which occupies almost 150,000 acres in the Lower Magdalena Valley in the north-west of the country.

Last week the Houston-based player farmed into SK’s Block SSJN-5, replacing Petroamerica as the Korean explorer’s junior partner in the gas and condensate prospect.

Gulf United gained an undivided 40% participation interest in the 570,452-acre block which is adjacent to Monday’s acquisition.
