Deaths: local reports say workers killed after getting struck by machinery aboard Stena Clyde

Two workers were killed while working for Origin Energy aboard the semi-submersible Stena Clyde in a gas field off the coast of the state of Victoria in Australia, according to reports.

Two men, a 60-year-old from Scotland and a 32-year-old Australian from the Northern Territory, were apparently struck by a piece of moving machinery at around 9:15 am local time, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported.

The accident occurred about 90 kilometres south-east of the city of Warrnambool. Origin is using the Aker-designed semisub Stena Clyde to drill a gas well in the the Otway basin in about 1650 feet of water (503 metres).
