Four injured in gas line blast

Blast: equipment burns after a gas line was ruptured north of Dallas, Texas
Four people suffered minor injuries when a utility crew accidentally ruptured a gas line at a construction site in rural North Texas, sending a giant fireball and a thick plume of smoke into the air.

The fire started around 8:30 am local time and burned for a little more than an hour before it was extinguished, according to reports.

Local fire officials in McKinney, Texas, about 30 miles north of Dallas, said a crew was working when a backhoe apparently struck a high-pressured 12-inch natural gas line.

Four of the six crew members on site was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, the extent of which were unclear. The other two workers were not harmed, according to reports.
