AXTech wins $21m crane deal from Technip

Lifting revenues: AXTech wins one of its biggest contracts to date from Technip

AXTech has scooped a $21.3 million contract from France's Technip to supply a special handling system for lifting and handling large subsea modules.

The Molde, Norway-based contractor said the deal was one of its biggest awards to date, and would involve many of the company’s staff up to delivery in the first quarter of 2014.

Managing director Richard Myhre said engineering had already begun on the project, with fabrication to start early next year.

“This is a totally new concept where dimensions, capacity and functions are setting new limits for subsea module handling equipment,” the company said.
