Line of business: Nexans wins ten-year deal with BP

French cable contractor Nexans has secured a 10-year global frame agreement with BP to to supply umbilicals and pipeline heating systems to the British supermajor’s global oil and gas projects.

The agreement covers the design, manufacture and supply of bespoke umbilicals to carry fluid, power, control and telecommunication services for new subsea projects, as well as DEH systems that provide flow assurance in pipelines.

The deal comes after two umbilical frame agreements Nexans has had with BP in the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico in 2003 and 2009.

Ragnvald Graff of Nexans said that the company’s technical, organizational and manufacturing capabilities were key factors in securing the long-term contact.
