AusTex adds two wells to Snake River

Snake River: AusTex Oil has added two more Range Resources-operated horizontal well to its Oklahoma project

Australia-listed AusTex Oil has agreed to participate in two additional horizontal wells in the liquids-rich Mississippi Lime play in Oklahoma.

The US-focused company has entered into an agreement with New York-listed Range Resources for a 13.76% working interest in the Balder 2-31N well and an 8.33% interest in the Hod 19-1N well.

AusTex’s decision to incorporate the two wells into its wholly-owned Snake River project in Kay County, Oklahoma, followed the success of the Balder 1-30N horizontal Mississippi Lime well, which achieved a 30-day average IP of 899 barrels of oil equivalent per day and a peak 24-hour rate of 1363 bpd during the June quarter.
