US rig count stays flat

Rig count: Stayed flat this week

The count of rigs exploring for US oil and gas stayed flat this week at 1864, according to Houston-based service firm Baker Hughes.

The count of oil rigs added four to 1413, while the count of gas units dropped by four to 448.

Texas saw the largest change in its count, gaining nine rigs for a total of 878.

Colorado gained three for a total of 62 and Oklahoma two for a total of 201.

California and Louisiana each shed four rigs, for totals of 42 and 116 respectively.

New Mexico and North Dakota each lost three for tallies of 87 and 181 respectively.

Pennsylvania’s count dropped by one for a total of 61.
