Providence granted foreshore licence off Dublin

Foreshore licence: Providence has received a licence to allow it to carry out a 2D seismic survey and drill an exploration well 10 kilometres off the coast of Dublin

London-listed Providence Resources has been granted a foreshore licence over an area in the Kish basin, off the coast of Ireland.

The licence was awarded by the Foreshore Unit of the Irish Department of Environment, Community & Local Government and allows for Providence to carry out a 2D seismic survey, a well site survey and to drill an exploration well on the Dalkey Island prospect in SEL 2/11.

With the grant of the foreshore licence, Providence said it would now advance procurement activities for a site survey vessel and drilling unit to drill the Dalkey Island prospect.
