Colombia pipeline blast amid peace talks

A blast at an oil pipeline in Colombia on Tuesday left two people severely burned and forced Ecopetrol to halt production.

Prominent militant group Farc have been blamed in local media reports for two explosions in the western department of Valle del Cauca which also hit a pair of energy towers.

The attack came just two days before peace talks between the Colombian government and Farc opened in Oslo aimed at bringing an end to decades of bloody conflict.

Two people are said to have been severely burned following the blasts near the town of San Pedro on Tuesday evening.

State oil player Ecopetrol is reported to have immediately halted operations associated with the targeted pipeline.
