Titan gets set to drill Greathouse

Excitement in Louisiana: Titan Energy has increased its acreage in the Greathouse prospect where it is in talks over a potential farm-out, in addition to preparing to drill its first well

Australia-listed Titan Energy is preparing to drill its first well into the Greathouse prospect in Louisiana after increasing its acreage by over a third to 598 square metres. The company also has an option over a further 846 square metres.

Titan has a 50% operating interest in the prospect, which has been assessed to potentially contain more than 1.35 million barrels of oil equivalent within the Hayes sand.

The well has been planned as a re-entry and sidetrack of the Jordan Schultz well and will target the Hayes sand at a total depth of 3093 metres. It is anticipated to potentially flow at rates of up to 300 barrels of oil per day.
