Baker Hughes and CGGVeritas team up

understanding shale: Baker Hughes and CGGVeritas will work together to create shale reservoir models

US oilfield services provider Baker Hughes has formed a partnership with France-based CGGVeritas which will see the pair work together to improve shale reservoir exploration.

The partnership will see the duo create reservoir models that integrate log-derived, near-wellbore geomechanical and petrophysical properties from Baker Hughes with calibrated seismic data from CGGVeritas.

"Providing our customers with a more comprehensive view of their reservoirs to accurately pinpoint sweet spots so they can make the most productive decisions is a fundamental goal of the Baker Hughes' shale strategy,” said Baker Hughes chief executive, Martin Craighead.
