Drilling success: for Kulczyk in Ukraine

Polish explorer Kulczyk Oil Ventures has discovered multiple gas zones with an exploration well drilled on its Krutogorovskoye licence in Ukraine.

Wireline logging of the Krutogorovskoye-7 (K-7) well has indicated five potential gas-bearing zones after it was drilled to a total depth of 3206 metres in the 1100-hectare licence, operated by the Warsaw-listed company’s local subsidiary KUB-Gas.

Kulczyk executive vice president Jock Graham said it could be a new discovery for the company if testing confirms the positive log data, further enhancing reserves and production potential on the five licences held by KUB-Gas near Lugansk, of which four are producing gas.
