PSL gets BP services call

By Upstream staff

Aberdeen-based PSL Energy Services has tied up a job working on BP’s offshore platforms, onshore terminals and pipeline systems in the Caspian Sea off Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Tom Sherwin, the company's regional manager for the Caspian, said the job's value ran to seven figures, but declined to elaborate.

The two-year contract, with two one-year options, covers nitrogen helium leak testing, nitrogen purging, vacuum drying, bolt tensioning and onsite machining.

The workscope may also include high pressure water jetting, chemical cleaning and pressure testing.

“Our long term commitment to Azerbaijan has been underpinned by a significant capital investment in building a new base in Baku and this latest success demonstrates this strategy is paying off,” Sherwin added.
