Statoil has unveiled the names of 70 senior managers who will help steer the company after its merger with fellow Norwegian player Norsk Hydro.
"We have laid the foundation for a powerful competence-driven organisation, rigged for safe and effective operations, international growth, and first-class technology and project execution," Statoil boss Helge Lund, leader of the Integration Planning Committee and proposed chief exectuive of the combined company, said today.
The merged company, which will be called StatoilHydro, will have six business areas.
Lars Christian Bacher, from Statoil will be in charge of operations North Sea for the new company's exploration and production (Norway) unit.
Statoil's Tim Dodson will head the unit's exploration business, while Torstein Hole, also from Statoil will lead operational development.
Operations West will be headed by Arne Sigve Nylund from Statoil, the drilling and well division will be led by Statoil's Per Haaland.
The unit's health, safety and environment chief will be Tove Rorhuus from Statoil, while Hydro's Siv Solem is in charge of finance and control. Hydro's Hege Marie Norheim heads reserve replacecment and business development. Statoil's Anne Hestenes is in charge of people and organisation and Hydro's Oystein Michelsen will run operations north.
StatoilHydro's international exploration and production unit includes Statoil's Anders Hatteland (finance and control), Bill Maloney, also of Statoil (global exploration), Statoil's John Knight (business development), Ottar Rekdal from Statoil (Europe and North Africa).
Oivind Reinertsen from Statoil will head the North America division, Hydro's Kjetil Sobraekke will head the Southern Atlantic basin dividion, while Torgeir Kydland, also of Hydro, takes charge at Eurasia, Middle East and Asia.

Jan Rune Schopp from Statoil is in charge of strategy and analysis, fellow Statoil staffers Snorre Jensen (health, safety and environment) and Liv Berstad (people and organisation).
Lund also named executives for the new company's manufacturing and marketing unit.
