Hard at work: at Nembe Creek
New team heads to Nembe
Shell is planning to send a second team of investigators to determine the cause of the Nembe pipeline rupture in Nigeria that has cut 187,000 barrels per day of output, a spokeswoman said.
On Friday Shell workers gained access to the pipeline, which feeds into the Bonny export terminal, for the first time since a leak was reported on 4 March.
"A second visit is expected today," Shell spokeswoman Eurwen Thomas told Reuters.
"We still don't know what the cause of the spill was and we hope that will clearly be determined by the joint investigation team."
She added that it was still too early to say when repairs will be completed.
