Maersk starts flowing at Dunga 2

Expanding: Maersk in Kazakhstan

Danish operator Maersk Oil has brought on stream the $1 billion phase two of its Dunga field development in Kazakhstan.

The first well at the Dunga 2 project has been brought into production at 7000 barrels per day with another two wells to start flowing this week at the field in the Mangistau region, about 50 kilometres from the Caspian Sea port of Aktau, Maersk said in a statement.

The existing Dunga field is already producing at an earlier reported rate of 10,000 bpd and Maersk aims to boost output to 30,000 bpd in 2015 with production from the second phase - of which it will have a share of around 15,000 bpd - with 198 wells to be drilled…
