EMGS gains Asian order

Rehired: the EM Leader is contracted for further Asian surveys

Norway’s Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has said it has been hired for an aggregate of 10 weeks in Asia after last month’s $7 million contract award from Shell off Malaysia.

Chief executive Roar Bekker, who predicted last month EMGS would win back-to-back EM projects in Asia, said the latest award “confirms the positive market developments in this region”.

The geophysical services provider said it has received letters of intent for two electromagnetic 3D surveys totalling around 10 weeks.

The EM Leader is to gather the data after completing the latest order from Shell inked late last month.

The value of the order was not disclosed.
