Puesto let down for Petrolifera

By Upstream staff

Canada's Petrolifera Petroleum said its Puesto Morales RN PM a-1016 well in Argentina stopped flowing today, just hours after the company announced test flows from the well of 460 barrels per day of light crude.

Petrolifera said it appeared the well might now require some form of artificial lift or pump, although no decision had yet been taken.

Petrolifera said the well was still expected to be a commercial producer but that further tests were required.

The company said the sudden loss of pressure might be related to the high ratio of gas to oil found in the well, or due to depletion of the reservour from other offset wells.

It said the original flow rate of the well would have represented about 4% of its average daily production.
