Cheer: GeoPark has flowed oil from the Tua-3 well in Colombia

London-listed GeoPark Holdings has flowed oil from a new well on the Tua oilfield in the Llanos 34 Block, onshore Colombia.

The Tua-3 well was drilled to a total depth of 3276 metres and a test was carried out using an electrical submersible pump in the Mirador formation at a depth of about 3031 metres.

GeoPark said the well flowed at a rate of 1127 barrels per day of 19.4 degree API oil, with less than a 1% water cut, through a 17 millimetre choke.

However, it added that further production history would be needed to determine stabilised flow rates and the extent of the reservoir.
