McDermott and THHE team up in Malaysia

Pair: McDermott and TH Heavy Engineering form a joint venture to meet the demands of Malaysia's booming exploration and production sector

McDermott of the US and Malaysia's TH Heavy Engineering have entered into a joint venture focused on providing a full spectrum of marine construction services required to meet the needs of the booming exploration and production sector in Malaysia.

McDermott senior vice president Scott Cummins and THHE chief executive Nor Badli Mohamad Alias signed the agreements linked to the joint venture this morning in Putrajaya.

The deals involve the swap of interests in the affiliates of the two companies, Berlian McDermott and TH Fabricators, informed sources told Upstream.

Both parties will also own equal interests in two new local outfits to be established for tendering engineering, procurement and project management services contracts in Malaysia.
