Frigstad Engineering lands semisub design deal

Design order: Frigstad Engineering rehired for KM-3 unit

Norway’s Frigstad Engineering has been rehired by Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum for complete detailed design on a semi-submersible tender assisted drilling unit.

The Cyrus-based outfit had already developed the basic design package for the project, KM-3, earlier this year based on its Frigstad T70 design.

Frigstad Engineering will carry out most of the detailed engineering work at its Singapore base in conjunction with the owner and yard in Malaysia.

The major part of the detailed engineering work will be carried out by Frigstad Engineering’s team in Singapore in close co-operation with the owner and the building yard in Malaysia.
