Bergen Group wins rig modification job

Norway’s Bergen Group is to carry out modification work on newbuild semi-submersible Island Innovator under a letter of intent with rig owner Marine Accurate Well.

The well intervention unit, built at China’s Cosco Shipyard, is set to arrive at the Bergen Group Hanoytangen yard on the west coast of Norway in the first quarter.

The fabricator will carry out modifications and commissioning during the yard stay, with work expected to be completed in the second quarter prior to delivery of the rig to Sweden’s Lundin Petroleum for drilling off Norway.

No value was disclosed for the contract.
