Max in Kazakh find

Max Petroleum has made another discovery in Kazakhstan although reservoir quality is only described as “fair”.

The London-listed junior struck 20 metres of net pay at the ESKN-1 exploration well on the Eskene North prospect.

The pay was found in a 90-metre gross interval of the Triassic formation at depths of between 1272 metres and 1362 metres.

Max will now set production casing with testing expected to occur in early 2013.

The Zhanos rig will now move onto the Tolegen West prospect in Western Block E.
