Kvaerner in new catch on Eldfisk

Haul: of Eldfisk work for Kvaerner

Kvaerner has landed additional work worth around Nkr400 million ($72.5 million) under its existing contract with ConocoPhillips to build the topsides for the US operator’s Eldfisk 2/7S platform off Norway.

The Norwegian contractor has now secured options to perform offshore hook-up and commissioning work on the 15,500-tonne topsides, as well as two bridges and a bridge support module included in the original Nkr5.5 billion contract.

The offshore work to hook up the bridges will be carried out later this year, while installation of the topsides – including a combined living quarters and utility module and combined process and wellhead module – will take place in the second half of 2014 at the field in the Greater Ekofisk area.
