in
the
Kvitsoy
basin
in
Statoil-operated
production
licence
265,
struck
a
30-metre
gross
oil
column
in
Upper
to
Middle
Jurassic
reservoir
sandstone,
of
which
about
20
metres
was
of
“very
good
quality”,
according
to
the
Norwegian
Petroleum
Directorate
(NPD).
The
oil-water
contact
was
found
at
the
same
depth
as
in
neighbouring
wells
and
pressure
data
indicated
communication
with
the
best
part
of
the
Sverdrup
reservoir,
the
NPD
stated.

the
well
“confirms
good
reservoir
properties”
in
the
southern
area.
