Lifting credibility: TH Heavy Engineering is seeking foreign partners to jointly bid for a risk service contract in Malaysia

Malaysia’s TH Heavy Engineering (THHE) is preparing to bid for a risk service contract from state-owned oil company Petronas, according to a local newspaper.

The Edge Malaysia reported on Monday that an executive familiar with THHE said the company was in the process of finding a foreign partner to jointly bid for one of 22 RSCs currently on offer by Petronas.

RSCs are arrangements which allow Petronas to remain as the owner of the project while the contractor is the service provider. Three have been awarded to date: one to SapuraKencana Petroleum and Petrofac; another to a consortium comprising Roc Oil, Dialog Group and Petronas Carigali; and the final contract to Coastal Energy and Petronas Carigali.
