Lundin unveils 2013 spending plans

Spending plans: Lundin has set its capital expenditure budget at $1.7 billion for 2013

Sweden’s Lundin Petroleum plans to spend $1.7 billion in what it claims will the busiest year in its history in relation to exploration and development activities.

Included in the $1.7 billion capital expenditure is $1.1 billion for development projects, up 150% on the previous year, which will include the development of the Edvard Grieg, Brynhild and Boyla fields.

Lundin has also set aside $460 million of the capital expenditure budget for exploration, which will be put towards activity in Norway and South East Asia.

The company plans to spend $330 million on exploration off Norway which will see it drill 10 wells in 2013, mainly focused around the Utsira High area.
