Vallourec
announced
on
Wednesday
that
its
subsidiary
V&M
do
Brasil
signed
a
five-year
contract
to
supply
seamless
pipes,
steel
grades
and
connections
to
Petrobras
for
its
operations
mainly
in
Brazil’s
pre-salt
fields.
According
to
Vallourec,
the
pair’s
long-term
collaboration
dates
back
60
years.
Vallourec
chairman
Philippe
Crouzet
said
the
company
was
honoured
to
support
Petrobras
in
tackling
“the
unequalled
challenges
of
the
pre-salt
exploitation”.
In
anticipation
of
the
huge
technical
challenges
facing
pre-salt
exploration
and
production,
the
company
is
also
planning
to
open
a
new
research
and
development
centre
this
year
in
