Fired up: potential bidders for Ruvuma gas

A planned farm-out of in the Aminex-operated Ruvuma production sharing agreement in Tanzania has attracted “substantial interest”, with a call for bids set to be issued next month, according to partner Solo Oil.

Both multinationals and national oil companies are said to be among the potential bidders circling for a slice of the attractive licence, which hosts the Ntorya-1 gas discovery made last year.

Aminex and Solo are each looking to farm out half of their respective working interests of 75% and 25% in the 6000-square-kilometre block on the Tanzanian border with Mozambique in an area where more than 100 trillion cubic feet of gas has been discovered in recent years.
