Ogna in Lundin drill sights

View to a drill: Lundin off Norway

Swedish explorer Lundin Petroleum is reportedly set to kick off drilling imminently at its Ogna prospect in the southern North Sea off Norway.

The 8/5-1 probe will be drilled by jack-up Maersk Guardian in about 72 metres of water in Lundin-operated production licence 453S.

Drilling is expected to take a minimum of 54 days, though this could stretch to 108 days in the event of a discovery and possible production test at the prospect, located between the Ula and Yme fields.

The well is targeting Jurassic and Triassic formations, with the main objective at a depth of 2282 metres, with Lundin estimating resource potential of 157 million barrels of oil equivalent and a 22% probability of success.
