Norway’s Farstad Shipping has said it has secured a clutch of contracts for platform supply vessels (PSVs) and anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels worth a total of Nkr 320 million (US$58 million).

The Oslo-listed shipping company said that the deals included the mobilisation of three PSVs out of the North Sea, offering “a positive impact on the market balance in the region”. Farstad

Statoil has hired PSV pair Far Spica and Far Scotsman for nine months’ work on its drilling campaign off East Africa starting in April, with an option for a further nine months.

Technip has contracted the PSV Far Star for two months plus a one-month option to join its activities in Brazil, with the vessel already en route.
