Roc hits pay off Malaysia

Celebrate: Roc has hit 87 metres of net pay at the Balai field off Malaysia

Australian company Roc Oil has hit pay across multiple zones in the Balai-2 well on the Balai Cluster off Malaysia.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 2266 metres and intersected up to 87 metres of hydrocarbon pay.

Roc said the well encountered about 47 metres of pay in the well’s primary sandstone target across seven reservoirs, with a total interval thickness of roughly 310 metres.

A further 40 metres of gas pay was intersected across one reservoir in a secondary limestone target with a total interval thickness of about 830 metres.
