Namibian farm-down: Global has opened a data room covering its offshore Namibian acreage

Africa-focused explorer Global Petroleum has opened up a data room as it looks to farm-out a share of its 85% interest in petroleum exploration licence 0029, off the coast of Namibia.

Global is looking to farm-down its interest in the licence ahead of the next phase of exploration activity which will include the shooting of new 3D seismic.

The company shot 2000 kilometres of 2D data of its Namibian acreage in 2011 which confirmed the presence of two leads, Structures A and B, which were identified on historical 2D data.

Global said the leads were both anticipated to contain a thick, Albian to Aptian age, carbonate reservoir within a fault controlled trap, sealed by overlying deep marine shales.
