Firing up: Dragon's output rose 10% year-on-year during 2012

London-listed Dragon Oil saw output rise in 2012 as new wells were brought into production.

Output for the year averaged 67,600 barrels of oil per day, up 10% on 2011’s average of 61,500 bpd.

Dragon attributed the rise in output largely to its 2012 drilling campaign which saw 15 new development wells successfully put into production throughout the year.

This was slightly offset by sand control issues during the second quarter which affected oil flow from a number of the companies wells, however this problem was quickly rectified and output was averaging more than 70,000 bpd by mid-August.
