Wild weather hits West Madura output

Stormy weather: high winds and rough seas affected production at the West Madura field

Output was affected over the weekend at Pertamina’s West Madura offshore Block off the coast of East Java, Indonesia, following severe storms.

The Jakart Globe, reported that the storms had triggered six-metre high waves and winds of up to 30 knots which temporarily halted operations at the block due to power outages.

Another local paper, the Jakarta Post, reported that the rough conditions dislodged three ships, which were assisting drilling activity and pipeline installation at the block, by up to five kilometres from the dock.
