IRG mulls company sale

UK-based junior energy player Independent Resources (IRG) is locked in talks with “a number of third parties” on deals which may lead to the company being sold.

The AIM-listed player may also explore the possibility of farm-outs, asset sales or mergers as it considers “a range of strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value”.

 “The company confirms that it has held, and is continuing to hold, preliminary discussions with a number of third parties concerning a range of these potential transactions,” a brief statement read on Wednesday.

“However, none of these discussions have progressed to a stage where the outcome is definitive and there can be no certainty that any of these discussions will result in a transaction.
