Huntington risers hooked up

First oil at E.ON Ruhrgas’ Huntington development in the North Sea is still on schedule for the first quarter as risers are attached to a floating facility.

All five risers have now been attached to Teekay’s Voyageur Spirit floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, junior Norwegian partner in the project Noreco said on Wednesday.

“The remaining activities towards first oil consist of subsea hook-up and testing, and completion and commissioning of the production platform,” the company continued.

Huntington is a Paleocene reservoir which will be exploited via six wells tied back to the FPSO.

First oil is due at an initial rate of 30,000 barrels per day of oil and 27 million cubic feet per day of gas.
