EMGS set for Asia survey

Asia work: EM Leader

Norwegian contractor Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has landed a letter of intent for six months of survey work in Asian waters.

The company is looking to deploy its vessel BOA Thalassa to acquire 3D electromagnetic data under the provisional contract that is due for start-up in the first quarter, with the award still to be finalised.

Chief executive Roar Bekker said both the Thalassa and another vessel, EM Leader, are likely to be employed in Asia for most of this year on the back of increased demand for electromagnetic survey work.

The company did not disclose the value of the contract or the client.
