Sevmorgeo hires Thalassa for Ecuador survey

Seismic scoop: Russia's

London-listed Thalassa has said its seismic subsidiary WGP Energy Services has landed a $4.175 million contract from Russia’s State Sevmorgeo for a four-month seismic job in Ecuador.

Thalassa chairman Duncan Soukup said the deal was significant as it came “outside of Europe during a period when we had not budgeted any work."

Soukup added that the Russian state company was now a repeat customer after the pair teamed up on a set of successful Arctic surveys over the past two years.

Under the new deal, WGP Energy Services will provide and operate Thalassa's portable modular source system for seismic data acquisition by the Russian geological sea surveyor’s local unit SMG Ecuador.
