awarded
the
three-year
contract,
which
will
involve
WorleyParsons
providing
project
management,
technical
and
construction
supervision
personnel
to
support
the
Basrah
Gas
Company
(BGC)
in
its
rehabilitation
inspection,
engineering,
procurement
and
construction
(EPC)
activities.
BGC
is
a
25-year
joint
venture
between
state-run
South
Gas
Company
(which
holds
a
51%
stake),
Anglo-Dutch
supermajor
Shell
(44%)
and
Japan’s
Mitsubishi
(5%).
The
company
was
formed
following
a
deal
with
the
Iraqi
government
in
November
2011
to
develop
the
world’s
largest
flares
reduction
company.
It
is
intended
to
make
better
use
of
Iraq’s
gas
resources…
