Statoil spuds Nanna wildcat

Statoil has kicked off drilling of an exploration well at the Nanna prospect in the North Sea off Norway.

The 25/11-26 probe is being drilled by semi-submersible Ocean Vanguard in a water depth of 130 metres in Statoil-operated production licence 169.

The wildcat is targeting a total depth of 2222 metres and drilling is expected to take around 32 days, though testing of a possible discovery could require an additional 20 days.

Statoil holds a 57% stake in the licence, with partners Petoro (30%) and ExxonMobil (13%).
