Lamprell delivers jack-up to Greatship

New delivery: the jack-up Greatdrill Chaaya

The incorporated Singaporean subsidiary of Greatship, Greatship Global Energy Services, has taken delivery of a mobile offshore self elevating drilling rig from Lamprell Energy.

Greatship, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company, said the Le Tourneau Super 116(E) design rig would be named the Greatdrill Chaaya.

In a separate release Lamprell said the rig had been delivered 18 months after initial steel cutting and on budget.

The independent leg cantilever type jack-up has a self-elevating, 477-foot leg design and is able to operate in water depths of up to 350 feet and is capable of drilling to a depth of 30,000 feet.
